Chemical Engineering Module
This course gives an insight in how COMSOL Multiphysics along with the Chemical Engineering Module can be used in chemical engineering applications. In three examples step-by-step instructions show how three different reactor types can be modeled. Important COMSOL features are explained.
The exercises include:
- Reaction and transport in a tubular reactor. Multi-component transport and density varying flow are also covered in this example.
- Mixing effects in a stirred tank. The new Assembly feature is used to set up rotating machinery with sliding mesh, allowing for detailed flow investigations.
- Turbulent transport in a baffled reactor. Turbulence modeling and staged solver schemes including both the stationary and transient solver.
