Vibration of an L-Shaped Membrane
AJ Baker, University of Tennessee, Knoxville
FEA normal mode vibration analysis of the L-shaped membrane for edge displacement BCs fixed at zero displacement.
Objectives of this simulation:
1. Set-up a GWSh eigenmode analysis of mechanical vibration of an L-shaped membrane in COMSOL Multiphysics.
2. Generate the first ten eigenvalues and eigenmodes for the base mesh.
3. Refine the base mesh, hence estimate the meshing necessary to predict the highest natural frequency to engineering accuracy.
4. Modify the design by introducing a fillet in the membrane concave corner and characterize the effect of fillet radius on the smallest and largest eigenvalues.
