Submitting abstracts, papers, and posters to the COMSOL Conference
Who owns the copyright of submissions? 
You will retain all ownership rights to the copyrights in the submissions. Since the license
granted to COMSOL is nonexclusive; there are no limits on your right to publish and distribute such
contributed materials. For details, refer to the
Copyright Notice at the end of the submission form.
How will COMSOL publish and distribute my submissions?
COMSOL will publish submitted material in the Proceedings CD (distributed at the COMSOL
Conference) and in the COMSOL Conference CD (published after the conferences and distributed to
people who have an interest in receiving it). Submitted material will also be published on the
COMSOL 'Papers and Presentations' website, and may be used in
COMSOL presentations and the like that relate to the submitted material, and be sent to people
interested in submitted material. For details refer to the
Copyright Notice at the end of the submission form.
Who is going to review my abstracts?
Abstracts and papers will be reviewed by the COMSOL Conference Program Committee, a panel
of experts in their respective fields familiar with multiphysics modeling.

Which are the main deadlines?
The final abstract submission deadline is on July 28th. You will receive a reduced
registration rate of $195 if you submit your abstract by June 15th. More information about the

Is it possible to edit my abstract after I've submitted it?
You can edit your abstract
anytime before the Final Abstract Submission deadline.
Which instructions should I follow to submit an abstract, paper or poster?
Instructions for authors have been made available here.
To submit an abstract you should provide the Program Committee with a
500 word maximum length text and at least one figure with a caption.
Which are the suggested topic areas of the COMSOL Conference?
The suggested topic areas can be found here.
We encourage you to submit your abstract even if your topic is not listed.
Your abstract will be assigned to a relevant topical area.
I am planning to submit a poster, should I bring it with me to the COMSOL Conference?
No. We will print the poster and display it for you during the COMSOL Conference.
If you wish to take your poster with you, you can take it down between 1:30 and 3:00 on Friday, October 5th.
May I choose in which format I would like to present my abstract?
COMSOL Conference presentations take place in the following formats:
Oral Presentation, Poster Presentation and Both Oral & Poster Presentation.
During
the submission process you will be able to indicate how you would prefer to present your work at the conference.

What is included in the conference registration?
The conference registration fee grants you admission to all events: general sessions, minicourses, demo
stations, user presentations, keynotes, panel discussions, the poster session, and the exhibition.
In addition, coffee breaks, two breakfasts, three lunches, two cocktail receptions
and an awards dinner are provided.
Is a registration package available?
Yes, it is. The registration package includes the Conference Proceedings CD and a trial
license for the prerelease of the newest version of COMSOL Multiphysics.
I would like to participate in the hands-on minicourses,
should I bring a laptop with me?
Yes, you should. And note that the minicourse sessions fill up fast, so
register now to secure a seat.
Are there sponsorship and exhibition opportunities available?
Yes, there are. COMSOL partners travel from near and far to showcase their products and services.

Which hotels can I choose to stay at for the conference? Is there a discounted room rate available?
We recommend staying at the
Boston Marriott Newton, where the conference events will take place. We have arranged for a special reduced room rate for the attendees of the conference.
The number of discounted rooms is limited, so please make your reservation early.
How do I get from the airport or the railway station to the conference?
Boston has one international airport: Boston Logan Airport.
Additionally, the Manchester Boston Regional Airport
is located less than 50 miles north of Boston. This airport has several low-fare airlines that fly in and out of Manchester.

What is My Conference?
My Conference
is a web service to manage your registration to the COMSOL Conference.
Once you log in to My Conference you can register to the conference, view your registration info,
sign up for minicourses, submit and edit abstracts and papers, see current status of your abstracts
and papers and print out your personal schedule. In order to login to My Conference you need a COMSOL Access account.
What is COMSOL Access?
COMSOL Access is a free service that we provide to our users and prospects.
Thanks to COMSOL Access you can: edit contact and license information, contact technical support,
manage event registrations, manage abstract submissions to the COMSOL Conference, access our online
model sharing COMSOL Exchange, participate in the community discussion forum, download Papers from
