Discover how easy and powerful modeling can be today

The first half of the seminar provides an overview of COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4 - its capabilities, its new abilities and functionality enhancements, and its new, more efficient, user interface. This will be of interest to both new and existing users of COMSOL.
We will emphasize the functionality of the new model-builder-based user interface which not only is much more efficient and quick to use, but also
allows quick modifications and adaptations of all models. We will work through a 3-physics coupled example to demonstrate the speed and efficiency of the new work flow.
Hands-on Tutorial

The second half of the seminar is a hands-on tutorial in COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4. It is directed at both new users and existing users who would like experience with the new interface. We will set up and solve a simple multiphysics problem designed to make participants quickly proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4 - enabling the participants to use the included 2-week free trial on their own models.
Come and experience the power and efficiency of COMSOL Multiphysics Version 4!
Who Should Attend
This Workshop is suitable for those with little or no experience using
COMSOL Multiphysics as well as for those with advanced knowledge. Anyone involved in research and development from concept level to production, working in industry or academia, can benefit from the event.

Dr. Sven Friedel
COMSOL Multiphysics GmbH, Zurich
Dr. Sven Friedel is a physicist and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Leipzig (Germany) in geophysics, specializing in electromagnetic inverse problems applied to tomographic imaging. He also taught courses in, among other things, geomagnetics.
For his research he focused on the simulation of electrical, fluidic, and thermal processes in volcanoes. After several years working as a postdoctoral researcher in the area of geotechnical engineering at the ETH in Zurich, in 2004 Dr. Friedel established COMSOL AB's branch office in Switzerland.

Zoran Vidakovic
COMSOL Multiphysics GmbH, Zürich
Zoran Vidakovic received his BSc and MSc degrees in mechanical engineering from ETH Zürich, Switzerland. His studies and research projects focused on turbomachinery, heat transfer, fluid- and thermodynamics and advanced energy technologies in general. In his master thesis at the
Laboratory for Energy Conversion he numerically investigated the turbine performance and heat transfer of innovative cycle concepts for CO2 capture ready fossil power plants. Before joining COMSOL in April 2010 Mr. Vidakovic completed a six month industrial internship in the Aero-/ Thermodynamics R&D department of MAN Turbo AG Schweiz.
