The Chemical Reaction Engineering course is a one day training course where you will learn to build system-level reaction kinetics models together with process models that include effects of species and energy transport using the Chemical Reaction Engineering Module. This course addresses topics including surface reactions, thermal effects, gas-phase reactions, porous catalysts, and optimization of yield and throughput. Modeling strategies for designing perfectly mixed isothermal systems, perfectly mixed reacting systems, and reacting systems with spatial variation will be introduced. The course is a combination of lecture on theory and practice, as well as hands-on exercises.
- Introduction to reaction kinetics modeling
- Writing and solving kinetic rate laws
- Setting up time-and space-dependent models
- Modeling fluid flow and convection coupled to reaction chemistry
- Diffusion and convection in diluted and concentrated solutions with focus on gas-phase reacting systems
- Mass & Heat transfer within porous catalyst coupled with chemical reactions
This course assumes some familiarity with the basic concepts of mass, heat, and momentum transport. We strongly recommend that those new to COMSOL Multiphysics take the COMSOL Multiphysics Intensive Training course prior to attending this class.
The fee for this one-day course is Rs. 5,000 per person (excluding taxes). Lunch and refreshments during the morning and afternoon breaks are included. Attendees will need to bring their own laptop to participate in the training course.
