Introduction

This course provides additional technical information and opportunity for hands-on experience for those interested in using COMSOL’s structural mechanics modeling capabilities. We will start at an introductory level (linear and static analysis) and then move on to advanced topics (nonlinear structural mechanics).

Instructor

Supratik Datta
COMSOL, Inc.

Supratik Datta received a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park in 2009. He has been involved in research related to damage detection in composites, phase transformation in ferrous alloys and design and non-linear modeling of piezoelectric and magnetostrictive actuators and sensors. Supratik's research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and he has received awards from AIAA and ASME for his work on magnetostrictive materials. He is currently working as an Applications Engineer in COMSOL Inc., Palo Alto.

Suggested Background

This course assumes a mechanical engineering background and familiarity the concepts of structural mechanics. We strongly recommend that those new to COMSOL Multiphysics take the COMSOL Multiphysics Intensive Training course prior to attending this class.

The fee for this one-day course is $695.00 per person. Academic discounts are available upon request.

Course Hours

The hours for all COMSOL courses are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; please plan to check in between 8:30 and 9:00 am. Lunch and refreshments during the morning and afternoon breaks are included.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that your seat in the course can not be confirmed until payment or a formal purchase order have been received.

Instructor-led training tuition is fully refundable if we receive written notification (via mail or e-mail) of cancellation on or before seven business days prior to the class. Cancellations made less than seven business days prior to class will be charged 25 percent of the course tuition fee. If you fail to show up to class without written notice, you will be charged the full tuition. You may send a substitute in your place to avoid a fee.

If a training course cannot take place as scheduled due to circumstances beyond COMSOL's control, we will issue a full refund for the amount that you have already paid.
