About COMSOL
Meaningful simulations of today’s complex systems require arbitrary couplings between different physics phenomena in one and the same model – Multiphysics Modeling. Engineers are no longer interested in describing the separate physics that affect their processes or components. Instead of investigating the flow past a impellor and then, in a separate investigation, the structural integrity of this impellor, they need to know how this two properties affect each other. This gives rise to a multiphysics simulation – in this case – fluid-structure interaction.
The COMSOL Group provides the software solution for creating computer models of multiphysics applications. We are a fast growing high-tech engineering software company with a proven track record and a vision as a future leader in the finite element analysis (FEA) industry.
Our flagship product, COMSOL Multiphysics, slashes the metric of greatest value to computational scientists – time to solution. It is based on Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) – the fundamental equations that describe the laws of physics. Through multi-physics and mathematical modeling, we transform any coupled PDEs into a form suitable for numerical analysis and solve it using the finite element method (FEM) with high-performance solvers.
The company was founded in 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden and has grown to include offices in the US, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, and The Netherlands.
Our corporate culture, like our products, is innovative, vibrant, and cutting edge. We are committed to encouraging creativity through an exciting, challenging environment in which individuals can grow. Talented employees and an active learning environment are the keys to our success.
