AC/DC Module

The AC/DC Module sets the stage for modeling the performance of capacitors, inductors, transformers, motors, and sensors.

The capabilities of the AC/DC Module span electrostatics, magnetostatics, and electromagnetic quasi-statics. Applications such as electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and electromagnetic shielding are all easily handled.

Yet, although electromagnetic devices are principally character-ized by these physics, they are also affected by other types of physics. Such applications are best simulated through Multiphysics Modeling. Resistive heating and inductive heating, for instance, can change the electrical properties of materials while magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) is another multiphysics application easily modeled.
