This paper deals with the design of an anti-magnetic screen for a superconducting retardation spectrometer using COMSOL Multiphysics.

COMSOL was used to model and optimize the anti-magnetic screen to obtain a design that reduces the exterior magnetic field by a factor of about 10, yet does not affect the internal magnetic field and its homogeneity, and that makes sure that the additional forces onto the magnet are non-destructive.
