FEMLAB Solution of the Creeping Flow Equations for a Particle in Stagnation Point Flows in the Vicinity of a Wall

The fluid velocity and pressure of the floweld around axed spherical particle embedded in an unperturbed axisymmetric creeping flow in the vicinity of a wall is calculated analytically by the method of bipolar coordinates.

Results are obtained with a 10-16 precision allowing a comparison with the results from a FEMLAB calculation. Results from the analytical calculation exhibit several cell vortices, the number of which increases for decreasing gap between the particle and wall.
