In the present paper a problem with both natural and combined natural-Marangoni convection flow of materials (having small Prandtl numbers of 0.0128, 0.054 and 0.71, respectively) filled in an enclosure has been investigated by a numerical simulation using COMSOL.
Solutions have been obtained for different values of the Rayleigh number. The generated flow under buoyancy and surface tension forces is laminar but could be of turbulent or transition-to-turbulent nature, under an increase of the thermal gradient which is accompanied by an increase of the surface tension effect.
