Seawater intrusion is a significant practical problem for coastal regions, which requires human efforts directed to prevent the degradation of freshwater aquifers. In the present paper we examined the homogeneous confined aquifer in terms of a 2D model which represents a vertical cross-section perpendicular to the sea coast. Several numerical simulations were performed in order to determine the season variation in the interface localisation as the function of the freshwater flow rate.
