ZhongFang Information Technologies Ltd becomes
distributor for COMSOL® in China

BURLINGTON, MA / SHANGHAI, CHINA (March 27, 2006)—COMSOL, Inc., has named ZhongFang Information Technology Ltd. (also known as CnTech) as its distributor in the Peoples’ Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macao) effective immediately. That firm, based in Shanghai, is responsible for all marketing, sales, local training, and support of the COMSOL product line along with the supplier’s other mathematical modeling and analysis software.

ZhongFang Information Technology is a leading provider of engineering-analysis and virtual-prototyping solutions in China. The company’s scope of business covers professional engineering services, the distribution of scientific software, as well as software integration and applications support. Its key markets are in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, civil-engineering, and general-machinery industries.

Because of its background, CnTech is ideally positioned to provide a top level of service and support to engineers and researchers in China. The sales company is an offshoot of the Chinese Simulation Technique Organization (CSTO), which in its initial years served primarily as a technical community as well as a consulting firm. In fact, the group’s online community, www.simwe.com/forum, is China’s premier forum for exchanging information about mathematical modeling, simulation, and virtual prototyping and it is currently rated as the most popular engineering website in China.

Sharing primarily responsibility for the COMSOL account are Alain Zhou and Larry Liang. Mr Zhou is in charge of sales, and Mr. Liang is the VP of marketing. They are joined by more than ten engineers who form the technical sales and support team for CnTech. These engineers, for instance, help run the firm’s own Practice and Training Center, whose top-notch instructors are experienced engineering consultants who supplement courses material with real-life examples and practical engineering guidelines.

"We’re delighted to have ZhongFang Information Technology represent us in China," says Svante Littmarck, CEO of the COMSOL Group. "This is a great match of organizations. The way these young, ambitious engineers have come together to create one of China’s most exciting technical sales organizations mirrors the way COMSOL has developed. We share a common philosophy and goal: listen to customers, find out what they need, and deliver the highest quality products and service. We are confident that this team will help the Chinese engineering, scientific, and research communities recognize the value of COMSOL Multiphysics® and our other products."

About the COMSOL product line
