An RFID System
Model ID: 1264

RFIDs are used in a multitude of applications such as tracking or identifying consumer products and their packaging. An RFID system consists of two main parts:

The reader antenna generates an electromagnetic field that energizes a chip (IC-circuit) inside the tag. The electromagnetic field is modulated by the tag’s circuit and the modulated signal is recovered by the reader antenna. This example illustrates the modeling of such a reader-transponder pair where the mutual inductance between the reader and transponder antennas are calculated.

An RFID System SENSORS: In an RFID, the reader antenna generates an electromagnetic field that energizes a chip inside the tag. Shown is the electromagnetic field in both parts.
