Array of Magnetic Dipole Antennas

Array of Magnetic Dipole Antennas

A magnetic dipole consists in its simplest form of a current carrying coil. Three such coils coupled together in an AC power circuit, constitute a radiating system. By changing the phases of the coils, you can alter the transmission angle of the waves.

In this model current carrying coils are mixed with electromagnetic field propagation. The equations should therefore take current density as well as polarization currents into account.

This equation can almost be handled by the Axisymmetric TE waves application mode, except for the source term. This can however easily be defined by working with the PDE coefficients.

To the left, surface and height plot of the electric field. Figure window shows the radiation pattern as a function of the rotational angle.
