A Variety of Analyses of a Steel Component
Model ID: 183
This example shows a plane stress analysis of a mechanical component. The component is cut from a 4 mm steel plate. The thickness is small compared to the length and breadth in the x-y plane. Due to this, and the fact that the applied loads lie in the x-y plane, the out-of-plane stress can be assumed to be negligible. The plane stress application mode is based on this assumption. The modeling introduces the six analysis types in the Structural Mechanics Module:
- static
- quasi-static
- parametric
- eigenfrequency
- frequency response
- transient

In this plot we can see the displacment aftar 0.0028 seconds in the transient analysis. The colors show the von Mises stress. |
