Optimizing the Circumscription of Points on a Plane

This model optimizes the problem when, given a finite set of points in a plane, you need to need to minimize the surface area of the circle that will circumscribe these points.

The example shows how to set up the one and the same optimization problem for different solvers in the Optimization Lab, while it also touches upon the importance of the problem formulation.


The circle of smallest surface area circumscribing all specified points.
