Heating Circuit

Small-sized heating circuits are used in many applications. For example, in different manufacturing processes, heating circuits are used to heat reactive fluids.

This is a stationary model of a heating circuit, consisting of a thin electrically resistive layer deposited on a quartz glass plate. DC induced Joule heating occurs in the layer, which heats the device. The thermally induced stresses in the glass, in the layer and at the interface, are determined to investigate if the film will remain attached to the glass plate or if it will detach.

In addition this model also exemplifies how you can solve your model by using a script in the Solver Manager.
