Model ID: 67
Tubular Reactor
In a tubular gas reactor, chemical reactions take place in a stream of gas that carries reactants from the inlet to the outlet. Mass and energy transport occur through a convection-diffusion and convection-conduction processes.
The 1D example examines a simplified model of a tubular reactor. It assumes that radial variations in compositions and temperature are small due to plug flow and heat-insulated walls.
The 2D model includes a cooling effect from the outside of the cylindrical reactor.
