This introductory demonstration will show you the fundamental workflow of the COMSOL Multiphysics® modeling environment. We will cover all of the key modeling steps, including geometry creation, setting up physics, meshing, solving, and postprocessing.
The Application Builder enables you to build specialized applications from your models in COMSOL Multiphysics®. In this 15-minute demo, we will highlight the basic steps to create an application as well as features in advanced, ready-made applications.
Phase Separation Morphologies Induced by Solvent Evaporation in a Thin Film of a Partially Miscible Binary Mixture
There are great ongoing research interests in the kinetics of phase separation in medical science, such as tumor growth and cancer growth, as well as in industrial applications, including image in painting; photovoltaic cell fabrication; and semiconductors, which can become thermodynamically unstable due to an abrupt change of parameters like temperature, pressure, magnetic field, etc. In the present study, we have numerically investigated the nonisothermal phase separation of a binary mixture in a confined geometry (a square enclosure) with a temperature gradient in the direction perpendicular to the system using the COMSOL® software. The pattern evolution of phase separation was demonstrated in a confined geometry, which arises from the interplay of phase separation and the temperature gradient.
Get a quick overview of using the CFD Module and Heat Transfer Module within the COMSOL® software environment.
The COMSOL Multiphysics® software supports your R&D and engineering with realistic physics-based models and simulations. But did you know that it also contains many tools to facilitate your modeling process and functionality to help you advance beyond everyday modeling? In this minicourse, we we will discuss and demonstrate the functionality available in the Definitions node of the Model Builder. This node includes probes, functions, interpolations, integration techniques, component couplings, and more.
This minicourse will cover the rich physics involved in structural analysis and acoustics as well as the interactions between them. Interactive examples include transducers, speakers, microphones, SAW filters, smartphones, medical sensors, and many others. We will discuss the range of material models (linear and nonlinear) you can choose from; loading and support conditions; and linking between solids, shells, plates, and beams.
Learn to use gradient-based and derivative-free optimization techniques to define and solve problems in shape, parameter, and topology optimization. The techniques shown are applicable for almost all types of models.
Hear about the new features in COMSOL Multiphysics® version 5.5 and learn how they can be incorporated into your existing multiphysics models.
Get a brief overview of the electromagnetic modeling tools of COMSOL Multiphysics® with a focus on the AC/DC Module, RF Module, Wave Optics Module, and Ray Optics Module.
Explore the meshing techniques that are available in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and learn about different solver and study types.
