Periodic boundary conditions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear comsol community,

I am dealing with Floquet type of periodic boundary conditions. I would be very grateful if someone can help me with several issues:

1) k-vector, defined in Floquet BC is a wave vector or a grating vector?
2) If I have a periodic structure with reciprocal grating vector G, what k-vector should Ispecify in Floquet BC?
( For a system, that consists of 2 layers continuity of tangential component of electric filed reqires k1 = k2 + G. That is why I am thinking of putting k2 + G into BC, not just k2)
3) I have heard that I should specify several BCs for each diffraction mode? What does it mean and how can I do it?

Regards,
Eugene
