Corrosion modelling in reinforced concrete

I have been trying to model chloride induced corrosion in reinforced concrete. I am not clear with the physics part. How can we build our own set of equations?? Can someone please discuss the physics involved during the process of corrosion in RC and how can one model the same in COMSOL
