Phase change with the particle tracing module

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,

I have a few issues with the particle tracing module. I bascially try to develop a model a providing the cooling conditions or cooling rates as a function of the particle diameter by using Comsol 5.2a.

As far as I know, Comsol provides a function called "calculate particle temperature". Thus, the specific heat capacity and the latent heat are available under the section "particle properties". The function "particle type" allows the calculation of either solid or liquid droplets/particles, but does not include the calculation of a phase change. For instance, the cooling condition for a conventional alloy generally include a solidus and liquidus temperature, but this function is not available in Comsol. How do I include a phase change with the particle tracing module?

I am looking forward for your feedback! Thanking you in advance

Nevaf
