How to send in a mode in COMSOL wave optics?

Hi all, I was trying to simulate a grating coupler. I want to see what happens when a light coming from a slab waveguide hits the grating region (shown in the first image in the attachment). This means that I need to define an input light (specifying its mode) at the input port. What I did before was first find out the propagation constant of the fundamental mode in the slab waveguide of the same refractive index profile and then enter the propagation constant in the port definition as shown in the second image. But it seems that the light is not well confined in the core region in the slab waveguide region, which seems not correct. So I'm wondering how would you do to excite a particular mode at the port of a waveguide in COMSOL. Thanks a lot!
