Power and Intensity in acoustic model

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone,

I am using the acoustic module for performing simulations of a piezoceramic tube immersed in water. Plotting the acoustic intensity profile along the axial direction at the center of the tube (see Figure 1 attached), it seems that the peaks of the intensity are not matching the peaks of the pressure inside the medium. This looks wrong to me, since acoustic intensity should be proportional to the pressure squared.

Another unexpected result is that pressure and acoustic intensity do not match along the x-axis (planar direction - see Figure 2 attached)

I attached the model i created, i would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me where i am wrong or if this result is actually correct.

Thanks,

Matteo
