Importing Well Locations with Specified Contaminant Concentration for Model Calibration

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am using transport of diluted species in porous media to simulate a groundwater contamination plume. I am trying to import a.txt file containing local coordinates of monitoring well locations and their associated contamination concentrations into COMSOL. I have successfully used the interpolation function to make a 3D plot of (x-coordinate, y-coordinate, concentration) graph, but I want to use the observed concentrations to calibrate the numerical simulation to be as close to reality as possible. I think this can be done with the optimization function within the transient study, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. If this is the completely wrong way to go about doing this, please let me know! I hope I was clear enough.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
