savings problem

Hi Sometimes It happened to me that when I want to save some big simulation (usually 3D simulations) the savings goes really slow and it may doesn´t end and so I loose everything. Do you have any idea of the cause of this behaviour from Comsol? Another thing connected to this is that when I face with this problem I also find a file named "modelxxxxxx" where the "x" seem to be random number. Of course I´ve never ever saved a file with that name so I´m asking where does it come from? and more important, what should it be?
