How to connect MATLAB and COMSOL directly from MATLAB?

Hello.

I was wondering if it is possible to establish a connection between MATLAB and COMSOL without opening COMSOL. I would like to know if there is a MATLAB command that will establish this connection.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Indeed there is , its discussed in the instllation guide I believe (I'm out "of office" working from my memory;) or in the mlinterface.pdf. Its something like

comsol matalb

options like " -np 2 " for two or more processors and

"-tempdir C:\scratch"

are usefull to keep your scratch files on a large fast disk, perhaps without having the AV fiddlening also with them.

This will open matlab (not comsol) in "linked mode , to gt to the comsol GUI just type on the matlab prompt "comsol" and off you go

Good luck
Ivar
