stop condition calculating a deformed mesh, ALE

To prevent inverted mesh elements I use the stop condition "minqual1_ale-0.5". Because of the model-settings for geometry shape Comsol uses first order elements for inverted mesh elements with a tolerance<0.1.

While calculating the solution inverted mesh elements occur, so that future remeshing gets wrong. I think, because of the stop condition there shouldn't be any inverted mesh elements!

How is the algorithm? Should I deactivate using first order elements for inverted mesh elements?

Is there anybody who knows the reason?

Best regards
Michael

I didn't really understand this point?? are you talking about the shape element function in the ALE??
The stop condition prevent to get poor element mesh, which can cause a wrong result. Not exclusively preventing inverted mesh.
You have to care about the value that you have assigned "0.5" it should have a sense regarding your model.
In the case where all your seetings are correct you should try the Winslow or the Laplace smoothing method. sometimes they give different results.

I hope it helps

Cheers,
