reaction force

Hello!

I'am trying to solve a 1d a PDE General form and I've got a problem. As my reaction force (F) I've implanted a function of a variable phi, but for depending on the phi (only a positive value), F(phi) can be negative, positive, and zero. I know that F should't be zero, how can I avoid this problem??
