Can not open Comsol with "An unexpected error occurred"

hi everyone

Yesterday, I used Comsol normally, but today I can not open it anymore. It gives me this error and its details:

"An unexpected error occurred."

'.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character.

I have the same problem, comsol worked just fine one minute ago and now this.

I have just reinstalled my Win and then the Comsol. Now, it works well. :D

Re installing windows is the only option left. Do you know any other way?? Please help....

Solution

This issue has so far only been observed on Windows installations. The solution is to ask the to rename/remove the vXX folder located at

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\.comsol\vXX

where %USERNAME% is the user name of the user and XX is the version you are using (44 or 50). If you have important settings in your vXX folder, it is recommended to rename it rather than removing it.
