Simulating a biomedical stent: problem with the surfaces.

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am trying to do some mechanical simulations of a stent, which I designed with Solidworks. The peorblem is that I used (with Solidworks) the following process: design-extrude-wrap around a cylinder and the warping didn't lead to an EXACT closure of the top and bottom surface; there is a gap between them (as seen in the picture attached).

This gap leads to meshing issuses in COMSOL. Do you know how could I use COMSOL to close it, or if there are any virtual operations for that.

Thank you very much in advance!
