Mathematical Modeling of Plastic Deformation Process with an Eulerian Approach

Energy balance over time.

The plastic deformation of materials with an Eulerian approach is studied in this work. In a fixed and almost-fixed domain the material flows, inlet and outlet boundary conditions as the contact-friction model are evaluate to obtain a stable solution and in particularly stationary. So a continuous plastic deformation process can be simulated. Numerical studies on rolling and drawing are performed. Coupling with energy balance is considered to determine the temperature field and its effects on processing. The base of the model is the use of the velocity as dependent variables and the like-Anand's plasticity model. The numerical work is made with COMSOL's PDE and Deformed Mesh interfaces.
