COMSOL Expands Its Offices in Palo Alto, California to Support the Growing Simulation Community

BURLINGTON, MA (April 27, 2015) – COMSOL, Inc., the leading provider of multiphysics simulation and analysis software, today announced the expansion of its office in Palo Alto, California. The office provides the local team with a larger facility for expanded sales and support for the growing community of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software users. Services include local sales, technical support, training sessions, and on-site workshops and customer visits.

"We are extremely pleased with our new office location and the company growth that precipitated this move,” said John Dunec, VP Sales Northwest US and manager of the Palo Alto office, COMSOL, Inc. “The new facility is perfectly located to build on our strong tradition of customer support and sales to existing and future customers. We are honored to share space with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, one of the premier philanthropic organizations in Silicon Valley whose founder developed the microprocessor technology that simulation software users have benefited from for 50 years.”

The new office in Palo Alto is in response to growing demand for COMSOL Multiphysics simulation and analysis software for R&D around the world. Silicon Valley scientists and engineers from leading organizations – including Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), UC Berkeley, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory – are using COMSOL Multiphysics in areas such as semiconductor wafer processing, heart cell growth and tissue morphology, and alternative energy storage.

"As a longtime user, it’s been very exciting to see COMSOL® software grow from its beginnings to taking the lead on developing the powerful simulation and application design tool it is today,” said Jon Ebert, Director, SC Solutions, Inc. “It’s an important part of our engineering service, where our designs are based on multiphysics simulation technology for leading-edge electronics and semiconductor applications.”

The opening of the expanded Palo Alto office comes on the heels of the company’s release of COMSOL Multiphysics version 5.1 and the Application Builder. Simulation experts can now benefit from a fully integrated environment where they can create models with COMSOL Multiphysics, build simulation apps with the Application Builder, and share these apps with non-experts via the COMSOL Server™ license. Upcoming events in Silicon Valley include the COMSOL version 5.1 & Application Builder Workshop in Sacramento, California.

"Our new location is conveniently located in the Moore Foundation building in the prestigious Stanford Research Park, the heart of Silicon Valley and home to many incredibly successful and respected technology companies,” said John Dunec, VP Sales Northwest US COMSOL, Inc. “We are delighted to set roots here in time to service our customers with the release COMSOL Multiphysics 5.1 having just been announced.”

COMSOL provides simulation software for product design and research to technical enterprises, research labs, and universities through 22 offices and a distributor network throughout the world. Its flagship products, COMSOL Multiphysics® and COMSOL Server™, are software environments for modeling and simulating any physics-based system and for building and distributing applications. A particular strength is its ability to account for coupled or multiphysics phenomena. Add-on products expand the simulation platform for electrical, mechanical, fluid flow, and chemical applications. Interfacing tools enable the integration of COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation with all major technical computing and CAD tools on the CAE market.
