BANGALORE, INDIA (January 30, 2009) – The COMSOL Group, developer of COMSOL
Multiphysics®, today announced the opening of a full-service office in Bangalore, India. The India office will market and sell the industry-leading multiphysics simulation environment from COMSOL and provide technical support services to its customers.
The decision to establish an office in India comes as a result of the significant success COMSOL has enjoyed worldwide as scientists and engineers in all branches of research, industry, and education discover the benefits of COMSOL Multiphysics for virtual prototyping. “We are seeing
great opportunity for growth in the Indian market. Tens of thousands of potential users in India are investigating the COMSOL simulation environment already. With this new office, we will be able to better support our customers in India,” comments Dr. h.c. Svante Littmarck, CEO and co-founder of the COMSOL Group.
Leading the company’s India operations is Dr. Vineet Dravid, who was appointed branch manager of COMSOL Multiphysics (India) Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Dravid received his PhD in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, IN, in 2006. Prior to assuming this role, Dr. Dravid served as applications engineer and regional sales manager with COMSOL, Inc., at the company’s US headquarters in Burlington, MA.
COMSOL kicks off its India operations with a road show making stops in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.
