Introduction to Modeling Acoustic Metamaterials

You can use the Acoustics Module, an add-on product to the COMSOL Multiphysics^® software, to simulate acoustic metamaterials. In this previously held webinar, after a brief introduction to the software and the Acoustics Module, the features for modeling acoustic metamaterials are discussed. In particular, the Periodic Condition feature is highlighted; you will see how it can be used to reduce a model's size by making use of periodicities in the geometry and the physics. Additionally, we discuss the thermoviscous Boundary Layer Impedance boundary condition. We then demonstrate setting up and building a model of a sonic crystal.
