Introduction to the Composite Materials Module

The Composite Materials Module is an add-on to the Structural Mechanics Module that can be used for expanding the functionality for modeling composite materials in COMSOL Multiphysics®.

Watch this previously held webinar to get an introduction to the Composite Materials Module and an overview of the different ways it enables you to analyze and optimize layered composite materials. This includes looking into the:

  • Stacking sequence
  • Fiber orientation of reinforced composites
  • Microscale (fiber-matrix modeling) analysis
  • Macroscale (laminate modeling) analysis
  • Specialized postprocessing tools

You will also see a demonstration of modeling the thermal expansion of a laminate using the software. This webinar is applicable to recent versions of COMSOL Multiphysics®, although small changes may exist between versions.
