Academic Applications Engineer

COMSOL is seeking an Applications Engineer to join Applications team to work with academic presales and support the users of the COMSOL® software.

As a successful applicant, you are expected to have a well- rounded education within an engineering or scientific discipline and experience with simulating technical applications with a basic awareness of all the major physics. With this basis, you will be expected to develop your technical proficiency in new areas of science and engineering as you help COMSOL’s users simulate their future innovations and ideas.

Primary Responsibilities

• Actively participate in discovery calls along with sale personnel to provide technical input and assess the feasibility of applications for prospective clients

• Demonstrate the use of COMSOL® software, summarize its features in web meetings, and support prospective customers on the modeling of their applications

• Participate in publicly held web-based workshops, webinars, and other marketing and sales events

• Provide front-end support for customers on the use of the COMSOL® software for a variety of Multiphysics applications involving multiple engineering disciplines

• Run Introductory training courses along with the technical discussion

• A willingness and ability to travel to current and potential customers to run COMSOL® sponsored events and activities in India

Minimum Qualifications

• MS in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a physical science

• Excellent communication skills on the phone, in person, and writing

• This is an in-office position

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Should have experience in handling sales support with customers

• Coursework in computational electromagnetics, CFD, Structure, Acoustics, Thermodynamics, or equivalent

• Familiarity with numerical methods such as FEM, FVM, FDTD, MoM or similar
