Geometry Modeling with COMSOL Multiphysics®

August 27, 2026 12:30 p.m.–1:00 p.m. CEST

Back to Events Calendar

The COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software includes specialized features for geometry creation and CAD integration. Geometry modeling capabilities help users create and combine different types of geometric objects using built-in operations, which can all be parameterized, allowing for automatic parametric sweeps and optimization with dedicated solvers.

The CAD interfacing products, which can be added to the COMSOL Multiphysics® platform, extend the functionality by enabling the import of a wide range of CAD file formats. The products also offer tools for defeaturing and preparing the geometry for meshing and analysis. Imported geometries can also be combined with those created directly in COMSOL Multiphysics®.

For more complex geometries, the Design Module add-on provides a 2D sketching environment with intuitive constraints and dimensions as well as special tools for modifying imported geometries and creating 3D objects in order to, for instance, extract midsurfaces, create lofts, or offset boundaries.

In this webinar, we will give an overview of the geometry creation capabilities in COMSOL Multiphysics® and demonstrate how to build and edit geometries.
