Two cases of flow through a microreactor

Hi

I have designed a microreactor in comsol which has one inlet and one outlet. The purpose of the design is to investigate 2 different gas flows thought the system (time dependent). We aim at doing this in two cases:

1) Let the first gas flow get access into the system and after a specific timestep let the other gas get access to the system- but doing this without diffusion. In other words we want to visualize how the second gas pushes the first gas out of the system.

2) Is similar with the first mentioned, bit in this case we want diffusion of the gasses in the system.

Both flows are laminar flow.

The issue we have a difficulty in is choosing the appropriate physics, because the final simulation is all about the physics. We have tryid laminar flow, transport of diluted species, laminar two phase flow, level set physics without success.

Can one please tell the most suitable physics for our 2 cases. Help is more than appreciated
