Battery: Porous electrode-Electrolyte coupling

Hi all,
I am trying to model the electrochemical reaction ocurring in a porous electrode where the electrochemical reaction takes place in the whole porous electrode domain and not only in a boundary.
Therefore, the my electrode-electrolyte interface is a domain, not a boundary.
However, the electrode-electrolyte interface coupling can be defined only in a boundary.
Does anyone know how make COMSOL to understand that the electrochemical reaction is taking place in the whole domain?
I have tried as well with porous electrode coupling but it does not work...
Many thanks in advanced,
Cheers
Belén
