Hello Ivar,

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have 3D simulations in Diluted Species Mixing. I want to "Cut Plane" or "Cut Line" in 3D structure and see the standard deviation graph of the "concentration" values to check how well they mixed.

Any suggestion? I cannot even get the whole data in a line.

Hi

I'm not sure aI catch you 100% for that question, but basically when I want to analyse my data I add internal boundaries, as these are easier to pick and to integrate over.

But the data set cut line, edge, surface ... allows you too to define a subset of your full results and COMSOL interpolates the values to map over the defined cut line, plane ...

So both should work and give similar results.

Now what I do notflly catch is the STD of a variable over a cut line or plane, I'm missing sme independent variale, or is it the time value.

What you can do is to define a cut plane, integrate over the plane, eiter full plane or over several sub aprture, i.e. to get a flow local velocity, versus time and dump that into a table (vis dependent variables). Then you can add a RMS or STD from thereon the list, column by column (check the table operations)

Good luck

Hi Ivar,

I need to have several cut planes at different depths in my very narrow pipe but i am trying to define the plane with 3 points but the plane generated is not the one i am after but it is the bigger cylinder surrounding my narrow pipe.it is like i have generated it via quick option.

would you please let me know what i can do for that?

thanks
