Simulation of overlapping, time-dependent E- and B-fields to calculate particle trajectory

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear forum,

I need to simulate the trajectories of a single charged particle with a given charge and velocity. The particle is running through a volume where an E- and B-field overlap each other. The E- and also the B-field strength is sinusoidal varied over the time with a frequency in the range of a few 100 Hz. The result should be a trajectory of the injected particle.
Is such a simulation possible with COMSOL? If so what modules do I need?

I'm asking this maybe stupid question because I have not yet used COMSOL and are looking for a program that is able to simulate what I need.

thanks in advance and regards
Uwe Stöhr
