Electric Point Dipole Asymmetry?!

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I have a simple model, with a point dipole surrounded by air, and then a PML. I want to recover the fields of a point dipole and I ALMOST do. They're totally fine but SLIGHTLY asymmetric--it looks like more power is emitted down and left. It's ever so slightly off axis.

It's gotta be the mesh or reflections from the PML...but still...even if those are incorrect shouldn't they be incorrect in a symmetric way?! This makes me think it's the mesh since the mesh isn't necessarily symmetric even though it almost always is.

Model uploaded and Study 1 is ready to solve. Looking at the plot of Ex you'll see it's slightly off axis.

Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Daniel
