Waveguide Adapter

This model demonstrates microwave propagation in the transition from an elliptical to a rectangular waveguide. The aim is to keep the energy losses for the operating frequencies at a minimum.

In this study, we consider a wave travelling from the elliptical waveguide into the rectangular one. The operating frequency of such a transition is kept in the single mode range, that is in the range where only one mode propagates in the waveguide. Since the characteristics of the two different waveguide shapes are quite different from each other, the ranges of single-mode frequencies are not the same. It is thus important to find the overlapping part of that range.
