Bagpipe Chanter Vibration Analysis

This study investigates the use of COMSOL Multiphysics® to compare design variations in two different bagpipe chanters. Eigenfrequency analysis of material and geometry variations are simulated and compared to experimental results. The study suggests an increased damping ratio associated with the material provides a reduction in interference waves resulting in a clearer sound.
