Software Developer - Particle-Based Methods (Multiple Openings)

Duties: Work with particle-based numerical methods for the add-on products Particle Tracing, Ray Optics, Acoustics and for new particle-based products. Analyze both the mathematical modeling and the numerical aspects of new and existing methods. Write detailed technical specification for new functionality for the aforementioned products, including the physics, the mathematical model, the numerical method, the user interface and the implementation details. Build prototypes for new functionality. Profile the performance of new and existing methods. Implementation of new methods in C++/Java, from a specification. Build tutorial models for new and existing functionality. Write different types of tests for new and existing methods. Write product documentation for new functionality and for tutorial models. Give technical presentations at webinars, workshops, customer meetings and conferences.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics or related field of study, and 2 years of experience in large-scale smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) methods. Experience specified must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: C++/MPI implementation of SPH methods; SPH coupled with Ray Tracing; Mathematical Modeling using SPH; and Technical Presentation. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
