Prof. Dr. Thorsten Röder

Since 2009, I have been professor of chemical engineering and thermodynamics at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim. My previous employment includes working in chemical process development at a major pharmaceutical company.

In my current role, I use COMSOL Multiphysics simulations for research and consulting, with a focus on solving process and chemical industry sector problems. These consultancy projects often include a research component as well as an application that is related to the project at hand. The process can involve answering questions that range from “What is the current status for this application in scientific literature?” to “What is the central problem?”

My goal is to be involved in projects at an early stage in order to gain a better understanding of the problem and provide solutions. In addition to simulation research, I also offer experimental treatments of problems.
