Im currently working on a model where im trying to simulate the forces acting on articular cartilage of the knee joint, specifically the tibiofemoral joint.

Its a rather complex model. I would like to have a frictionless contact between the menisci and the cartilage surfaces. im trying to solve this prolem by using assembly and then contact pairs. But my model is not able to converge. All parts are in contact before the load is applied. Is it correct to use contact pairs in this scenario?
If i use identity pairs and continuity, the model is able to converge, but im not sure thats the right way to go?
