What is Livelink for MATLAB?

Hi

I am wondering what is Livelink ??? On different discussions and documetnts I read that if I want to transfer my geometry built in MTALAB, then I have to use Livelink. If I have a geometry in MATLAB so how can I transfer it to COMSOL and what is the procedure? I am new to both MATLAB and COMSOL.

If Livelink is a different package, can anyone let me know that need to buy separate license from MATLAB or COMSOL??
